Faculty of History and Philology (University of Tirana) and Faculty of Civil Engineering (Polytechnic University of Tirana), organized on September 23rd, 2022, the second Business Academia Workshop: “Modernization of curricula and continuing education to increase student skills and Business – University cooperation”, in the frame of GEOBIZ Project_”Business driven problem-based learning for academic excellence in geoinformatics” (2019-2022) ), part of the ERASMUS+ CBHE Program.
In the first session there were welcoming speeches from: Prof. Dr. Sabri Laçi, Dean of FHF/UT and local Coordinator of the GEOBIZ Project for UT; Dr. Genti Qirjazi, Department of Geodesy, FIN/UPT; Prof. Dr. Željko Bačić, GEOBIZ Project Coordinator; Prof. assoc. Dr. Bernard Dosti, Deputy Rector of UT.
In this Workshop participated important Institutions and Businesses such as: ASIG (State Authority for Geospatial Information); IGJEO (Institute of Geosciencies); IGJIU (Institute of Geography and Military Infrastructure); Municipality of Tirana; Land & Co. Ltd.; Lorenzo & Co Ltd; GDi Tirana; TekProjekt, which presented their activity and proposals for strengthening cooperation with the University, in order to improve the curricula of geoinformatics and geoinformation courses, as well as the training of specialists according to the needs of the labor market.
Students from both Faculties presented their achievements in the field of Geoinformatics and Geoinformation and were awarded with certificates in the end of the Workshop.
In the presence of the participants, Prof. dr. Sabri Laçi, Dean of the FHF, signed Cooperation Agreements with: Land & Co Ltd; Lorenzo & Co Ltd and TekProjekt
